Avry Janes
CO-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Avry Janes joined the Foundation team in the summer of 2022 and was appointed to co-lead the organization in the fall of 2023. Born and raised in the Comox Valley (as were three of her grandparents), Avry has deep roots and ties to the community accompanied with many years of experience in the non-profit sector.
Fun fact about Avryโฆ She spent her early years on a sailboat, has travelled through the Panama Canal three times, and encountered real pirates in the Caribbean.

Rhonda Stevens
CO-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Rhonda Stevens joined the Foundation team in the summer of 2022 and was appointed to co-lead the organization in the fall of 2023. She served our country in the Canadian Armed Forces for more than 29 years specializing in Search and Rescue and commanding 19 Wing Comox before starting her work in the healthcare philanthropy sector.
Fun fact about Rhondaโฆ She met Terry Fox during the first week of his Marathon for Hope near Deep Bight, Newfoundland. Rhonda was 4 years old at the time and remembers giving him a $2 bill.

Marcie Dumais
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Marcie Dumais joined the Foundation team in the spring of 2021. She has many years of non-profit work experience in the Comox Valley most of which focused on organizations that support childrenโs health. She is passionate about our community and bringing people together to contribute to our quality of life.
Fun fact about Marcieโฆ Her first job at 15 years of age was working in an ice-cream trailer at the PNE in Vancouver and living under the rollercoaster, a long way from her small town home in the South Okanagan.

Lauren Klaus
GIFT & DONOR RELATIONS
Lauren Klaus joined the Foundation team in the winter of 2021. She has a background in administration and sales, working for Tourism Whistler before moving to the Comox Valley with her young family in 2019. She loves the outdoors and cares deeply about the people and places that make our region so special.
Fun fact about Laurenโฆ She traveled to Interlaken, Switzerland to work for a summer during university and her mom made her promise she would not go skydiving nor fall in love with someone from afar. Lauren ended up marrying a Swiss skydiver.

Cally Sykes
OFFICE ADMINISTRATION
Cally Sykes joined the Foundation team in the winter of 2023. With a rich background in community engagement from her work in the United Kingdom, Cally enjoys bringing stakeholders together to effect positive change and providing administrative support to help organizations thrive.
Fun fact about Callyโฆ She walked a puma through a jungle during a stint volunteering with an animal sanctuary in South America.
